Alex «Poatan» Pereira announces move to light heavyweight (205 lbs)

In April, Pereira lost by knockout to Israel Adesanya in a rematch for the UFC middleweight title.

Pereira, a skilled kickboxer who has won two titles in the Glory kickboxing, previously dabbled in MMA before joining the UFC full-time in November 2021. In his fourth UFC fight and eighth overall in MMA, Pereira impressively knocked out Adesanya to claim the UFC middleweight championship.

As he gears up for a comeback tour, Pereira has his sights set on facing reigning light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill and former champion Jiri Prochazka, both of whom had previously defeated Pereira's mentor Glover Teixeira.
