Saul Alvarez, who currently holds the WBC, WBO, IBF, WBA (Super) and The Ring world titles at 168, will defend his crown against John Ryder on May 6 at Akron Stadium in Mexico.
The commemorative belt was crafted by artisan Angélica Moreno from the Talavera de la Reyna workshop, who fused metal and marble through a subtle design that emphasized the silhouette of the Talavera flower and agave, both representative figures of Puebla and Jalisco.
The WBC's commemorative belts are awarded in high-profile fights on May 5 (Batalla de Puebla) and September 16 (Mexico’s Independence Day), two of the most important dates for Mexico and boxing.
The presentation ceremony was attended by various members of the boxing community, including Olympic medalist Antonio Roldán.
