The incident occurred on Friday, April 21st, when Diaz was filmed appearing to choke out a man in the street in New Orleans. Diaz was in town to support his teammate Chris Avila, who was fighting at a Misfits Boxing event.
On Monday, April 24th, it was reported by MMA Fighting and ESPN that Diaz, who is 38 years old, has been charged and an arrest warrant has been issued. The NOPD issued a statement that matched footage of the alleged incident involving Diaz.
Diaz last fought in September, submitting Tony Ferguson before leaving the UFC.
He is scheduled to fight YouTube star Jake Paul in a boxing match in August.
